Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 1:32 PM MST Feb. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 6 PM this evening
to 5 PM MST Tuesday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are
possible tonight, with locally higher amounts over southwestern
portions of the park. Most of the snow occurring Saturday night.
Total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet expected, with locally
higher amounts over 4 feet possible. Winds gusting as high as
45 mph on Sunday afternoon and night.

* Where... Yellowstone National Park.

* When... from 6 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Tuesday. At this
point, the two of the heaviest periods of snow will be later
tonight and again Sunday afternoon and night.

* Additional details... patchy blowing snow could significantly
reduce visibility. Snow and wind will reduce the visibility
for snowmobile travel.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions will make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you
must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your
vehicle in case of an emergency.
