... Flood Warning extended until Tuesday morning...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Potomac River at Shepherdstown.
* Until Tuesday morning.
* At 3 am Monday the stage was 22.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity... the maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
3 am Monday was 22.1 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
tomorrow morning.
* Impact... at 22.0 feet... water approaches homes on the West Virginia
side of the river near Shepherdstown, and impacts are also observed
on the Maryland side, not just to the c&o canal towpath, but also
to roads and structures.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 21.4 feet
on Sep 29 2018.

... Flood Warning extended until this evening...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Potomac River at Harpers Ferry.
* Until this evening.
* At 4 am Monday the stage was 18.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity... the maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
4 am Monday was 18.8 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 19.1 feet by this
morning. The river will fall below flood stage mid-afternoon today.
* Impact... at 19.5 feet... floodwaters begin to cover the old federal
armory site at historic Harpers Ferry. Backwater from the
Shenandoah covers most areas between the normal river channel and
the elevated Winchester & Potomac Railroad tracks.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 18.3 feet
on Sep 29 2018.

the Flood Warning continues for
the Shenandoah River at Millville.
* Until late tonight.
* At 3 am Monday the stage was 12.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Recent activity... the maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at
3 am Monday was 12.8 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
late this evening.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... water reaches the river access at wagon
trail place near Harpers Ferry, and completely covers the parking
lot of the lower boat ramp at Millville dam. Portions of the Cool
Spring Battlefield begin to flood.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 13.0 feet
on Sep 29 2018.
