Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 10:45 AM CST Dec. 13, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect until 6 PM CST this evening...

* what... heavy snow occurring. Blowing snow expected to develop
this afternoon. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow
accumulations of 4 to 7 inches are expected.

* Where... Brown County, southern Marinette County and southern
Oconto County counties.

* When... until 6 PM CST this evening.

* Additional details... winds gusting as high as 30 mph will cause
areas of blowing and drifting snow this afternoon. Be prepared
for significant reductions in visibility at times. Highest snow
totals will occur north of Wrightstown and Denmark.

A Winter Storm Warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra
flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an

The National Weather Service in Green Bay has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Menominee river near Pembine.
* At 10:00 am Wednesday the stage was 15.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Impacts at 16.0 feet. An ice jam is likely occurring. Flooding
affects mainly lowland and forested land adjacent to the river.

... Hazardous travel conditions into mid-afternoon...

Moderate snow will continue over much of east central and far
northeast through mid-afternoon, reducing visibilities to between
one half and one mile. Brief periods of heavy snow are possible
as well, with visibilities near a quarter mile.

Northeast winds will increase through the early afternoon hours,
with gusts between 20 and 30 mph expected, creating areas of
blowing and drifting snow.

Snow covered roads and reduced visibilities will result in
hazardous travel conditions. Motorists are urged to slow down,
keep a safe distance between vehicles, and allow extra time to
reach their destination.
