Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:51 PM PDT May. 23, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southern Stevens County in northeastern Washington...
north central Spokane County in northeastern Washington...

* until 645 PM PDT

* at 448 PM PDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms... especially around Clayton and Deer Park and near
hunters. A weather spotter in Deer Park also reported 0.65 inches
of rain in 10 minutes. This will cause minor flooding in the
advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Deer Park, Springdale, Fruitland, Cedonia, Loon Lake, Clayton and
hunters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
