... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST this
morning...

* what... freezing rain occurring. The ice will result in very
slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges, including
during the morning commute. Additional ice accumulations of a
light glaze are expected.

* Where... southern Vermont, northern Berkshire County in western
Massachusetts, and the southern Adirondacks excluding Herkimer
County, and the Lake George and northern Saratoga regions of
eastern New York.

* When... until 7 am EST this morning.

* Additional details... the ice will result in very
slippery conditions on sidewalks, roads and bridges.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of freezing rain
will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads.
Slow down and use caution while driving.



Areal Flood Watch

... Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday morning through Wednesday
morning...

The National Weather Service in Albany has issued a

* Flood Watch for all of eastern New York excluding the western
Adirondacks, for northwestern Connecticut, western
Massachusetts, and southern Vermont.

* From Tuesday morning through Wednesday morning

* rainfall amounts of three quarters of an inch to an inch and a
quarter along with snowmelt on Tuesday may be enough to
dislodge river ice which would then move downstream and
potentially jam at preferred locations. Areas in the river
channels which are most prone to ice jam flooding include
obstructions in The Channel such as islands, locks, bridge piers
and docks; changes in The Channel such as narrowing of The
Channel, bends, gorges and intact ice cover; change in channel
depth from deep water to shallow water; and merger of river
channels.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
