Flood Warning, Areal Flood Warning

... Flood Warning extended until Monday evening...
the Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River at Chewey.
* Until Monday evening, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:15 PM Sunday, the stage was 26.30 feet.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring but the river is falling.
* Forecast... the Illinois River at Chewey will continue falling to
below flood stage by early Monday afternoon.
* Impact... at 26.0 feet, very severe flooding occurs from near
fidler's Bend to near Hanging Rock. Highway 10 near Hanging Rock is
impassible. Numerous roads near the river will be inaccessible and
water impacts Chewey Road east of Chewey bridge. Some areas may be
isolated for an extended duration. Many Cabins in the fidler's Bend
area are severely flooded. This is an extremely dangerous and life
threatening situation.

the Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River near Watts.
* Until Monday afternoon, or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7:00 PM Sunday, the stage was 21.40 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring but the river is falling.
* Forecast... the Illinois River near Watts will continue falling to
below flood stage by Monday morning.
* Impact... at 21.0 feet, severe flooding occurs from the Arkansas
border to fidler's Bend. Water will reach the base of the building
at River Valley raceway. Farmlands and permanent camgrounds are
inundated. Numerous Cabins in the fidler's Bend area are flooded.
Extreme turbulence makes the river too hazardous for floating.

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1115 am CDT Monday for
Craig... Rogers... Delaware... Ottawa... Mayes... Adair... Nowata...
Wagoner... Cherokee and northern Muskogee counties...

At 1103 am CDT, the heavy rains have ended however widespread
rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches with local amounts near 8 inches
of rain have fallen. Several roadways have been reported closed due
to the flooding and many low water crossings are likely flooded. The
high water will be slow to recede.

This includes Interstate 44 between mile markers 235 and 324.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
