* Lake Shore flooding... the combination of High Lake levels and
wave action may worsen flooding in low lying areas along the
Lake Ontario shoreline.

* Timing... the beach hazards statement is in effect from early
this afternoon through late this evening. The Lakeshore Flood
Watch is in effect from late this afternoon through late
tonight.

* Impacts... flooding and erosion may worsen in low lying areas
along the immediate Lakeshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
Lakeshore flooding are expected to develop. Residents on or near
the shore should take action to protect property... and listen for
later statements or warnings.

A beach hazards statement is issued when there is a high swim
risk. This means life threatening waves and currents are
expected. Stay out of the water and stay away from dangerous
areas like piers and breakwalls.
