... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southwest New Mexico, including Grant, Hidalgo,
Luna, and western Sierra counties.

* Through 6 PM MDT Thursday.

* Heavy rainfall with 2 to 3 inches of rain falling over
isolated areas, heaviest in the Gila region.

* Flash flooding possible especially around low water crossings
and poor drainage areas. Some Road closures may be required
and property damage may occur around flood prone locations.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
