southwestern Lenoir County in eastern North Carolina...
southwestern Craven County in eastern North Carolina...
Onslow County in eastern North Carolina...
Duplin County in eastern North Carolina...
western Carteret County in eastern North Carolina...

* until 1045 am EDT Thursday.

* At 1023 PM EDT... flooding continues due to the extreme rainfall
from Florence working through area rivers and streams. Use
caution when traveling or performing recovering activities. Please
continue to heed any Road closures.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jacksonville, Kinston, Wallace, Warsaw, Pumpkin Center, Piney
Green, New River station, Half Moon, Camp Lejeune center, Mount
Olive, Stella, Swansboro, Phillips Crossroads, Hubert, Kornegay,
Rose Hill, Richlands, Beulaville, Deep Run and Maysville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Neuse River at Fort Barnwell.
* Until further notice.
* At 9 PM Wednesday the stage was 17.5 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Impact... at 18.0 feet... widespread flooding along and south of River
Road. Water inundates homes on cow pen Landing Road and adjacent
roads to the south of River Road. Some homes on chips Road, Ayden
drive, and Sassafras drive are flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Swift Creek near streets Ferry.
* Until further notice.
* At 4 PM Wednesday the stage was 8.2 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 4.0 feet.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... widespread flooding south of Vanceboro. Most
of streets Ferry Road is underwater and many homes along it are
inundated. Water backs up small streams and inundate homes on Piney
Neck Road and State Camp Road. Water surrounds west Craven High
School.
