Winter Weather Advisory, Wind Chill Advisory

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 PM EST this
evening...
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST Monday...

* what... light snow and black ice. Very cold wind chills expected.
Additional snow accumulations of less than an inch. Winds
gusting as high as 55 mph. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero
expected.

* Where... the Tennessee border counties of North Carolina.

* When... for the Winter Weather Advisory, until 7 PM EST this
evening. For the Wind Chill Advisory, until 10 am EST Monday.

* Additional details... plan on slippery Road conditions. The
hazardous conditions could impact the morning commute. Gusty
winds could bring down tree branches. The cold wind chills
could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

A Winter Weather Advisory for black ice means that refreezing of
roads will occur, resulting in the development of widespread black
ice. Be prepared for very slippery roadways. Some roads that
appear clear may be covered by a thin layer of ice.

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 1 am EST Monday...

* locations... portions of the southern and central mountains of
North Carolina, including the high elevations of the Great Smoky
Mountains, the balsams, and Madison County. The mountains of
northeast Georgia and South Carolina.

* Hazards... very windy conditions.

* Timing... strong northwest winds will begin to diminish this
evening.

* Winds... northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.

* Impacts... strong winds may blow down limbs, trees, and power
lines. Isolated to scattered power outages are expected.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that wind gusts of 46 to 57 mph are
expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
