The Flood Warning continues for
the Fox River at Montgomery.
* From this morning to Saturday afternoon.
* At 715 am Tuesday the stage was 13.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 13.5 feet by
early Wednesday. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday
morning.
* Impact... at 13.0 feet... minor lowland flooding begins near river.

... A Flood Warning for urban areas and small streams remains in
effect until 1045 am CST for Kendall... La Salle... dupage... Cook...
Livingston... southeastern Ogle... will... Lee... De Kalb... Grundy...
Kankakee... central Ford... Kane... northern Iroquois... Porter...
northern Newton... Lake and northern Jasper counties...

At 514 am CST... Doppler radar indicated rain and embedded
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall remained across portions of
the warned area. Up to two inches of rain has already fallen since
last evening.

Additional rainfall amounts of up to an inch are possible in the
warned area this morning.

To report flooding... have the nearest law enforcement agency relay
your report to the National Weather Service forecast office.

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Fox River at Algonquin tailwater.
* From this evening to late Wednesday night.
* At 230 am Tuesday the stage was 7.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tonight and continue to rise
to near 9.7 feet by Wednesday morning.The river will fall below
flood stage by Wednesday evening.

... Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of north central Illinois and northeast Illinois,
including the following areas, in north central Illinois,
Boone, DeKalb, Lee, Ogle, and Winnebago. In northeast
Illinois, Kane, Lake IL, and McHenry.

* Through this afternoon

* multiple rounds of showers and some thunderstorms are expected
through today. Widespread rainfall amounts of one and a half to
locally three inches of rain are expected with isolated higher
totals possible.

* The ground remains frozen, therefore much of the rain will
result in rapid runoff. Expect rises on area rivers and
streams that may result in flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
