Flood Warning
Issued: 8:24 PM CST Nov. 12, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flood Warning extended until Saturday afternoon... the Flood Warning continues
for
the shoal river near Crestview
* from tomorrow late evening until Saturday afternoon.
* At 7 PM Monday the stage was 6 feet.
* No flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 8 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and continue to
rise near 9.7 feet by Wednesday evening. The river will fall below flood stage
by Saturday afternoon.
* At 8 feet... minor flooding of low lying areas
* at 8.5 feet... water in yeards on sowel Road
* at 10 feet... some flooding of trailers north of the Okaloosa correctional
institue. Water surrounds home on sowel Road.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday
afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Alabama and northwest Florida, including the
following areas, in Alabama, Baldwin central, Baldwin coastal,
Baldwin inland, Conecuh, Covington, Escambia, Mobile central,
Mobile coastal, and Mobile inland. In northwest Florida,
Escambia coastal, Escambia inland, Okaloosa coastal, Okaloosa
inland, Santa Rosa coastal, and Santa Rosa inland.

* Through Tuesday afternoon

* event total rainfall from 3 to 5 inches with localized higher
totals is possible in the watch area. Heavy rainfall in a
short period of time or in those instances where the better
defined showers and storms move repeatedly over the same areas
may lead to flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous.

Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
flash flood warnings be issued.
