... Excessive heat watch in effect from Monday morning through
Wednesday evening...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an excessive
heat watch... which is in effect from Monday morning through
Wednesday evening.

* Temperature... high temperatures peaking on Tuesday and Wednesday
with high temperatures in the 90s for inland coastal areas to
102 to 110 in the inland valleys... 90s in the mountains above
6000 feet and upper 90s to 105 below 6000 feet... 106 to 112 in
the High Desert areas... and 108 to 116 for the lower deserts.

* Impacts... a prolonged period of very hot daytime temperatures
combined with very warm nights is expected to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

* Outlook... well above average high temperatures may continue
beyond Wednesday but with some moderation in the heat possible
as the high pressure weakens slightly and moves northward
slightly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay
in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up
on relatives and neighbors.
