Record heat occurred today across Arkansas out ahead of a strong
cold front that also brought very strong winds across the state.
The details of the record highs that occurred are included below:

... Record high temperature set at Batesville Regional Airport...

A record high temperature of 80 degrees was set at Batesville
Regional Airport for November 18th. This breaks the old record of
76, which was set in 1942.

... Record high temperature set at Hot Springs Memorial Field...

A record high temperature of 80 degrees was set at Hot Springs
Memorial Field for November 18th. This breaks the old record of
76, which was set in 1991.

... Record high temperature set at Jacksonville/Little Rock AFB...

A record high temperature of 79 degrees was set at Jacksonville/
Little Rock Air Force base for November 18th. This breaks the old
record of 77, which was set in 1999.

... Record high temperature set at Stuttgart Airport...

A record high temperature of 82 degrees was set at Stuttgart
Airport for November 18th. This breaks the old record of 80,
which was set in 1942.

... Record high temperature set at North Little Rock...

A record high temperature of 78 degrees was set at North Little

A cold front surged through Arkansas today. Southwest winds shifted
to the northwest behind the front, with gusts from 40 to 50 mph at
most locations. Gusts over 50 mph were noted in northeast sections
of the state. Below are the highest gusts recorded at sites in The
Little Rock County Warning Area.
